What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise CityROCK Johannesburg for its excellent facilities, friendly staff, and challenging climbing routes suitable for all ages and skill levels. The auto-belay system and dedicated kids' area are highlights, making it a great family outing. Some find the vegan-only restaurant menu limiting, but the overall experience is highly recommended for an active and fun day out.
"Although not quite as spacious as the Cape Town branch, this CityRock shares the same spirit, with friendly staff and great facilities. My mid-day visit included a quick tour to locate key points of interest, like the loo and auto-belay routes. It was great to test skills on brand new routes."

"Well maintained course! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good vibe and so much fun for families and athletes. Brilliant shop inhouse and fairly priced. Kids need to be 5 and older to join in on the fun. Booking essential if first time to learn the ropes (hehe)"
Francois van Nieuwenhuizen
"What an amazing experience for the whole family! My kids absolutely loved the climbing and we spent the full two hours trying every wall. My 14 year son was able to do the adult section and he loved it.
A few suggestions is wear long pants that you don't mind getting damaged. Longer length wise tops and socks.
The only downside for me is that the restaurant is a only Vegan menu. Such a pity casue I personally didn't really enjoy the food and won't make a point of eating there again. However, overall great experience and highly recommend a visit."
