"I previously gave Pirates Club a good review, but after this past weekend I have to completely change it.
On 17 August I came with friends to watch the Man United game — great vibe, no issues. That’s why we returned on 24 August. This time, it was the complete opposite.
We arrived, ordered food (bacon & avo burger and a Hawaiian pizza) and drinks. The rugby had just finished, so we politely asked if the soccer could be put on. The manager on shift, Aaron, was shockingly rude. His exact words: “We’re not dictators, we can’t choose what to watch,” followed by insisting they’re a rugby bar — even though the game was over, and even though the soccer was being shown the week before. When we pushed again, he told us to cancel our food and leave.
He eventually and reluctantly put the soccer on… but as soon as our food arrived (when it was too late to cancel), he switched it straight back to rugby. That felt deliberately disrespectful — borderline sabotage of our experience.
To make it worse, the food was undercooked, and two of my friends ended up sick and vomiting overnight. The tables were sticky and filthy too (I’ll be adding photos).
I actually like Pirates for the setting, prices, and menu — but Aaron’s hostile attitude, complete lack of customer care, and the unhygienic food/service make it impossible to recommend.
⚠️ Avoid this place if Aaron is on shift. Hands down the rudest and most unprofessional manager I’ve ever encountered. Between his behavior and the food hygiene issues, he’s actively driving customers away and damaging the reputation of Pirates Club."
