What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Shipandani Overnight Hide for its incredibly immersive wildlife experience and unique overnight stay. While the basic amenities and potential for loud nocturnal animals are noted, most find the adventure and proximity to nature to be unforgettable. Some suggest improvements for lighting and bathroom proximity, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive for those seeking a wild escape.
"Awesome hide. You are also able to book it for an overnight stay. Sleeps 6 inside hide. Braai camp behind hide and secure toilet. No kitchen etc. Very basic but super adventure. Hippos will keep you up 😆😃"

"What a nice experience!! Service was great: bedding and box with kitchen-stuff was promptly brought in before 18:00.
We can recommend, however, better light options (than a very weak and small solar lamp. We had cell phone lights to help out, but had to rush after 17:30 to get ourselves organized before dark (due to shortage of lamps) and missed sunset 🫤 .
However, all in all a good experience, even with a lion walking past in the night - and were thankful that we were warned by the person bringing the bedding that we need to close the windows/ hatches. It would be nice to have the bathroom closer. Scary to walk the distance with knowledge that just the thin wood separates you from the lion😬."

"Do yourself a favour....book to sleep over at this hide! Well maintained and clean with a perfect view over the river, immersed in nature and the beauty and unpredictability of Kruger, this is an experience to remember.
Check in at Mopani rest camp where you will get keys and linen for the beds. Braai facilities and a toilet for personal use is included.
Can't recall exactly but I think the hide sleeps six. Enjoy the sights, sounds, drama and peace of the bush. Yes, just go..."
