[SAVE & SHARE] 1. Get there EARLY! I got there around 2pm and by then, the pinguins migrated to a different area of the beach, so its best to get there before they start getting a lot of visitors. 2. Be sure when you request an uber there, arrange for him to wait on you and take you back because it is VERY difficult to find an uber or taxi once there 3. Bring comfortable shoes! Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Cape Point Nature Reserve for its breathtaking scenery, especially the iconic lighthouse and dramatic coastal views. The opportunity to see wildlife like ostriches and baboons is a major draw, and many recommend hiking the trails for a more immersive experience. Some find the entrance fees a bit high for international visitors, and the wind can be intense, but the overall consensus is that it's a must-visit destination.

"Cape Point Nature Reserve was a highlight of our trip—made even better by a beautiful, clear day that gave us endless ocean views. You can either walk or take the funicular up to the lighthouse; we chose to walk, and it was well worth it. The trail offered stunning scenery the entire way up. It was very windy and a bit crowded at the top near the lighthouse, but the views more than made up for it.

For lunch, there are two options: a sit-down restaurant and a quicker spot called The Food Shop. We tried the pizza (just okay), but the caprese sandwich was fresh and satisfying. We stopped by the two souvenir shops on-site, which had a nice selection of Cape Point–specific items.

After lunch, our guided tour included a fantastic hike from the reserve down to the iconic Cape Point sign. The trail was well maintained, with wooden slats for most of the way and only short stretches that required a bit of scrambling. It was a great way to experience the landscape more intimately. We managed to walk right up to some Ostriches along the path! Overall, an incredible day in a breathtaking location!"

"A highlight for anyone visiting Cape Town and the area. Although quite expensive for foreigners, this place has amazing views, wild ostriches and baboons and paved roads for any car. Be aware it closes at sundown and you'll be charged a fine for overstaying. That's unfortunate because the sunset here must be amazing"

"This is an absolute Must Do when you are in Cape Town. Where Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean meet. The fynbos nature - which is like nowhere else on Earth, will definitely speak to your spirit. Dont just stand around like a tourist. Hike up and down this stunning South Point of Africa. And while you do- pray for every man women and child living in this Country please. 💜"
