Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning beauty of Waterval Nature Reserve's waterfalls, accessible via an easy walk. Many appreciate the clean, natural environment and the opportunity for refreshing dips in the rock pools. While the main falls are easily reached, the trek to the second waterfall offers a more challenging adventure for the intrepid. Reddit+2

"Not a long or difficult walk/hike to such a beautiful waterfall. There is a bit of scrambling and if you want the easier route, be prepared to take your shoes off and get your feet wet. It's kept clean either by municipality or just by great hikers. Love visiting this spot."

Shenecca Cassidy

"This is a nature reserve but it's not manned. Still safe to walk. Very few visitors. The first waterfall is around 10-15 mins from the parking area. Visit after rains when it gushes and is absolutely stunning. The second waterfall is 2 hours walking distance from the first and is amazing, but you need to cross two rivers on the way. Not too deep but cold. It is recommended to go with someone who knows the way, since there are no markers or directions. The scenery along the entire route is stunning. The entrance gate is always closed so the trail is actually next to the fence."

Rick R

"Free entry to a lovely spot, just a short walk from the sign “Parking for hikers”, along a well trodden track. After about 5 minutes you get to the boulders, take care with your footing. Clear rock pools and flowing waterfalls, this in the middle of summer! And please show nature respect by taking your litter home with you."

The second waterfall presents a more adventurous undertaking. It's located about a two-hour walk from the first, and the journey involves crossing two rivers. The scenery along this path is consistently stunning, making the effort worthwhile for those seeking a deeper immersion in nature. Reddit

It's highly recommended to visit after rainfall to witness the waterfalls at their most powerful and impressive. This ensures a more dramatic and memorable experience, especially for the second, more remote fall. Reddit
