What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for escape rooms are generally positive, highlighting the fun and immersive nature of the experience, especially when playing with friends. However, some players have noted issues with puzzle clarity, the effectiveness of unique game mechanics like character roles, and potential language barriers for non-native speakers. The duration of some games has also been a point of contention for a few visitors.
"Positives, they do cater to English. I don't think language barrier is an issue.
They have a concept of having different characters with abilities, it's pointless and just requires extra explanations. It's not a bad idea all together, but it is poorly executed/utilised.
The room isn't great. It's linear puzzles but there's not actually anything in the room to give you clues, you just solve the puzzle. This means it becomes a lot more like a table top or computer based escape room as the actual room becomes a bit redundant.
The first puzzle annoyingly has no clues and you either know how it works or you don't. You can't really puzzle it out, the hint is just the answer. The 6th puzzle makes no sense at all. It makes no sense with a hint, it makes no sense with the answer and it makes no sense with the explanation of the answer. I have no idea what on earth they were getting at. Other than that the clues were straight forward. Which means the whole room was unsatisfying as it's a combination of frustrating and a bit boring.
One of the locks was broken and just left unlocked, we even tried to lock it to solve the puzzle and it wouldn't lock. So we had to solve the puzzle then go check the hint system to see if we were right."

"Did all the avaliable escape rooms in 3 days, cuz it was super addicting with the unique concept of roles and hint system they provide. Game masters were very friendly and freeflow cold water was nice. Fair warning that the hardest room, Cerebrum, is really hard and needs very good communication to complete it smoothly.
Overall, I think this place does escape rooms really well. This place deserves alot more attention."

"Not great when playing in English, potential issues with translation. The puzzles were confusing, as many items were marked as do not touch, which were then essentially to solving the game.
It was also really short compared to other escape rooms we have played in Seoul, we were just getting into the game when it was suddenly the end in under 30 minutes"

🎫 🧭 Onsite Experience
Most escape room games last for 60 minutes, but some can be shorter (30-45 minutes) or longer (90 minutes), depending on the venue and room difficulty.

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
When choosing a room, consider the difficulty level and the recommended age range. Shorter games or those with simpler puzzles might be better for younger children. Remember to communicate clearly with your kids about the game's objective and encourage teamwork. The shared challenge and eventual success (or near-success!) can create lasting family memories.
🎉 Friends Looking for Fun
Many escape rooms, like those in London or Orlando, are designed for groups of 4-8 people, making them ideal for a night out. The shared challenge of solving puzzles under pressure creates a bonding experience that's often more memorable than a typical dinner or movie. Don't forget to celebrate your victories (or commiserate your near misses!) afterward.
🏢 Corporate Team Building
Many escape room venues offer packages for corporate groups, sometimes including private bookings or debriefing sessions. Choosing a room with a theme that encourages diverse thinking and problem-solving approaches can maximize the team-building benefits. The shared experience of overcoming challenges together can significantly boost morale and strengthen working relationships.

The Rise of Immersive Escape Rooms
This immersion is achieved through careful set design, sound effects, and even live actors or character interactions in some cases. The aim is to transport players, making them forget they're in a game and instead feel like they're actively participating in a movie or a thrilling quest. The success of these rooms often hinges on their ability to maintain this illusion, making every detail count from the moment you enter.
While the core mechanics of finding clues and solving puzzles remain, the presentation has become paramount. This focus on thematic coherence and storytelling is what differentiates a good escape room from a truly memorable one. Travelers are increasingly seeking these unique, interactive entertainment experiences that offer a break from the ordinary and a chance to engage their minds in a fun, social setting.
Navigating Puzzles and Hints
Many escape rooms utilize a hint system to help teams that get stuck. These hints are usually delivered by a game master who monitors your progress. However, the effectiveness of the hint system can vary. Some players find that hints are too vague or too direct, impacting the flow of the game. The best systems offer just enough guidance to nudge players in the right direction without giving away the solution entirely.
When facing difficult puzzles, remember that collaboration is key. Discussing potential solutions with your teammates, even if they seem unlikely, can often spark the breakthrough needed. Pay close attention to the room's environment; sometimes, the solution is hidden in plain sight or requires interacting with seemingly innocuous objects.
Language Barriers and International Play
Venues like Lock & Key in Rosario, Argentina, are noted for catering to English speakers, but it's always wise to confirm this when booking. If a language barrier is a significant concern, look for escape rooms that explicitly state they offer games in your preferred language or have multilingual staff.
Even with a slight language difference, many players find that the visual cues and the universal nature of puzzles can still lead to an enjoyable experience. The key is often the friendliness and helpfulness of the game masters, who can often bridge communication gaps with gestures and clear, albeit sometimes limited, explanations.
