What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Haeundae Beach is celebrated for its expansive sandy shores, vibrant atmosphere, and stunning city skyline views, especially at night. Visitors appreciate the convenience of nearby amenities and the unique attractions like the Sky Capsule and Blueline Park. However, the beach can become extremely crowded, particularly on weekends and during summer, and swimming is strictly regulated to specific times and seasons.
"I was lucky to visit the area during the weekday and avoid the crowds but I heard that this place will get packed with people if you come during the weekend. Still, because there weren't many people, I was able to enjoy the beach peacefully!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Haeundae Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Korea. It’s in Busan and is a great place to enjoy the sea and city together.
• The beach is about 1.5 km long with soft sand
• You can swim, sunbathe, or just relax
• Many restaurants, cafes, and hotels are nearby
• In summer, there are festivals and concerts
• You can walk along the beach and enjoy the view
• The city lights look beautiful at night"

"I’m giving this beach three stars. It’s a great beach, has appropriate quantities of sand, has some smol size waves and the usual collection of beach chair and inflatable swimming objects by numerous vendors.
The views are not the issue, pretty solid, beach, ocean, sand and skyrise- pretty good!
The problem is the swimming, or rather the lack of it if you miss the designated and tightly patrolled time window in which swimming is considered to be acceptable.
They will yell at you and they will fine you. We defiantly stood with our feet in the water and enjoyed the view."

Haeundae Blueline Park: Sky Capsule vs. Beach Train
On the other hand, the Beach Train is a more traditional, open-air tram that runs parallel to the coastline, stopping at various scenic points. It's ideal for families or those who want to hop on and off to explore different areas like Cheongsapo or Songjeong. Many travelers recommend booking the Sky Capsule in advance, as it's highly sought after, while the Beach Train might offer more flexibility.
Both options provide incredible photo opportunities and a refreshing way to see the coast. Consider your priorities: the intimate, scenic journey of the Sky Capsule or the broader exploration offered by the Beach Train.
Experiencing Haeundae Beach: Beyond the Sand
Beyond the immediate beach area, the surroundings offer plenty to explore. The Haeundae Market is a must-visit for its bustling atmosphere and delicious street food, offering a taste of local Busan life. For those seeking panoramic views, the Busan X the Sky observatory provides breathtaking vistas of the beach and the cityscape from its 100th floor.
Even outside of peak summer, Haeundae offers charm. A walk along the beach at night reveals a beautiful city lights display. Nearby attractions like Dongbaek Island offer pleasant walking trails with coastal views, providing a more tranquil experience away from the main beach crowds.
Navigating Haeundae Blueline Park Tickets
Booking in advance is crucial for the Sky Capsule, especially for popular times like sunset. Many visitors recommend booking weeks ahead to secure a spot. While the Beach Train is less prone to selling out, booking ahead is still advisable, particularly if you plan to use multiple train transfers or visit during peak season.
Some travelers suggest that if you can't get advance tickets for the Sky Capsule, heading directly to a station like Cheongsapo might yield same-day availability. Always check the official Blueline Park website for the most up-to-date information on booking procedures, pricing, and available packages.
