"Hong Makgeolli Bar is the real deal and a rare find in the middle of busy Hongdae. The makgeolli here is brewed fresh every day right in the restaurant, and it shows in every sip. We tried Hong’s Spring and Winter makgeolli. The Spring was smooth and gently sweet, comforting and easy to drink, while the Winter was sharper, lightly sour, and naturally carbonated. Both were well balanced and unmistakably fresh. Finishing a jug felt effortless.
But what truly made the experience special was Hong himself. Warm, attentive, and deeply passionate about makgeolli, he took the time to explain his brewing process, share his story, and check in on us throughout the night, even though the bar was busy and we were among the few foreigners there. His hospitality felt genuine and unforced.
We came for the fresh makgeolli, but left remembering the people. Hope to be back soon Hong!"

"Found this hidden gem right at the heart of Hongdae, if you like Makgeolli you have to come to this place, they have this 4 types Makgeolli on their menu Summer Winter Autumn and Spring which we choose 12000won per person unlimted drink for 2hrs thats the deal.
The owner of this place made his makgeolli in house, Mr Hong is very friendly and give explanations about the Makgeolli that he brew inhouse. We had a good chat with him about his passions on making Makgeoli because Makgeoli to him means home, guest and party.
I tried all the 4 diff types of Makgeolli, my personnal fav is the summer tho as it is smooth and not too strong 😍

"Really loved the house made makgeolli here! It comes in 4 seasons and we really like the spring and winter versions. You can taste the freshness of the brew. Boss was v friendly.
You have to order food, as part of the prerequisite but it’s comfort simple food that goes well with the drink.
The unlimited makgeolli option is also very affordable if you can drink more than a jug on your own."
