Vào tháng 5 hàng năm, diễn ra trong vài ngày, khung giờ từ 5h30’ đến 7h tối, vùng biển Jindo tách làm đôi.
Hàng năm, có cả triệu du khách đổ về vùng biển tỉnh Jeollanam (Nam Hàn) để chứng kiến hiện tượng siêu nhiên biển tách đôi.
Tại vùng biển đảo Jindo và Modo của Hàn Quốc, hàng năm vẫn xảy ra hiện tượng kỳ thú như chỉ có trong huyền thoại, đó là hiện tượng vùng biển đột ngột bị chia đôi.
Vùng biển từ từ tách đôi, để lộ ra con đường dài 2,8 km, rộng khoảng 40m, nối liền hai đảo Jindo và Modo.

Bà lão sống một mình trên đảo hiu quạnh.
Người con gái tuy thương mẹ già, nhưng không có cách nào trở về nhà thăm mẹ. Bà mẹ ngày càng héo hon, gầy mòn vì nhớ con gái. Bà cứ khấn vái để được vị thần Biển giúp đở.
Một đêm, bà mơ thấy vị thần xuất hiện nói vào tai bà rằng ngày mai sẽ thiết lập một cầu vồng trên biển, để con gái có thể về với bà.
Thật không ngờ, điều kỳ diệu đã xuất hiện. Vùng biển đã tự tách làm đôi trong vài giờ, đủ để con gái bà trở về thăm mẹ.
Sau khi bà lão Bbyong mất đi, người con gái vì nhớ thương mẹ mà hàng năm vẫn về thăm viếng ngôi nhà của mẹ mình và từ đó con đường huyền diệu đó vẫn ẩn hiện cho tới ngày nay.
