What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Myeongdong is a vibrant, bustling district loved for its extensive K-beauty selection, trendy fashion, and lively street food scene. While some find the street food overrated or overpriced, the overall atmosphere and shopping opportunities are highly praised. Lotte Department Store offers an upscale experience with a notable food court.
"Reminds me of Macy's of Herald Square in New York City midtown Manhattan. They do a similar Christmas decor just like Macy's. Lotte Department Store has 11 floors of eveything you need from home furnishings, electronics, cosmetics, clothes, shoes, optics, kitchen and bath. If you are a visitor you should consider buying Chinese and Japanese electronics and request Duty-Free forms so you can get 10% refund at the airport on the way back home. Think...DJI price which is already 15% lower and another 10% tax free!!!"
Buster Got it
"Yes, this shopping mall is large, consisting of two buildings, but I couldn't find what I needed because its sales approach isn't based on product categories but rather on brand displays.
The supermarket and food court on the basement level of Building A are bustling and crowded. At first glance, there's a wide variety of tempting food, but when you calm down to choose a meal, you realize there's nothing particularly appealing.
I ended up buying some buns, but the taste was average.
The dessert counters were numerous too, but after much deliberation, the pastries I bought weren't anything special."

"In myendong. Main draw card for me was the basement b1 food court and mini supermarket with gourmet goods. If you get lost, the information desk will help. Lots of shops inside across 2 buildings.
Food court has takeaway items as well as different cuisine restaurants and sit down area. You order your meal at a counter and they'll bring it to your table.
Biggest inaris I've ever had and wonderful flavour and variety.
Tempura veg set was enormous and the spicy seafood noodle soup had a charcoal spicy flavour. Awesome. Meals were 14 krw each plus inaris."

Myeongdong Street Food: A Culinary Adventure
However, it's worth noting that some visitors find the street food to be somewhat overrated or overpriced, suggesting that while it's fun for the experience and atmosphere, tastier options might exist elsewhere. Prices for items over 10,000 KRW are often flagged as potentially too high.

This area is a culinary haven, packed with numerous merchants offering a diverse selection of delicious foods, from traditional Korean dishes to international cuisine. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking for a satisfying meal in a convenient location.
While the department store is known for its prestige, some reviews suggest that customer engagement and pricing could be more competitive compared to other retail hubs. Nevertheless, it remains a significant landmark in Myeongdong, offering a blend of upscale retail and a vibrant food scene.
