Reviews Summary
Yongpyong Resort offers a fantastic winter sports experience with well-maintained slopes and a scenic cable car ride. While many visitors praise the friendly staff and enjoyable activities, some reviews highlight issues with dated accommodations and potential service lapses during peak times, particularly concerning hotel check-ins and refunds.
"Had the time of my life here ! 2-3 hours from Seoul depending on the traffic. The staff are friendly and well accommodating. They are very helpful and most importantly, understand English. I went with friends for a day trip and we rode the cable car and tried snow sled and WE ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT. Will probably come again for ski lessons and try out the hotel for few days!"

"We made reservations for three nights more than a month in advance. Upon check in was told we could check in to the room at 3 pm. After 4 pm we and many other hotel guests were still waiting for our keys. Finally after 4pm we had to walk to an adjoining building that was several hundred yards away and we got our keys. Checking in there was absoutly no assistance from management and we ended up going to the wrong area as there was no one to tell us where to go to find our room. Upon finally getting to our room we asked about changing to another better room. Was told not possible.
After eating in at one of the restruants, actually a banquet got extremely sick. We told the hotel management we need to cut our stay short and leave a day early. Was told that even if we checked out a day early they could not refund our last day. Our room cost 200,000 won or approximately $200. So even after properly checking out we would just forfeit our last day.
Please do not stay in this hotel as the management is awful. There are much better hotels to stay at in this area at much better prices."

"Staying at the Intercontinental Hotel with spacious room with bathtub, beautiful views from the rooms, many facilities inside the resort, the breakfast was delicious with many variants, too bad the queueing was very long due to limited seat, you have to wake up early to enjoy the breakfast."
