This three story temple of consumer electronics sits above Gangnam Station, luring you in with promises of the future and the faint hum of air conditioning powerful enough to refrigerate a small country.
The ground floor is a glossy playground of the latest phones, tablets, VR headsets, and cameras, perfect for touching thousands of dollars’ worth of gadgets you have no intention of buying. Upstairs, Samsung shows off its “home of the future,” where your fridge talks to your washing machine, your mirror tells you you’re late for work, and your doorbell can probably judge your outfit.
