"Such a great experience to see and explore the turtle ships here in Gangguan Port. There are all 4 ships together, paid the entrance ticket at the counter and you can wander and explore as long as you wish in the ships. Great thing about it is that there are English translation available for foreigners to read and learn more about the history of the ships.
Parking was a bit difficult as it is located near the fish market. We parked at a multilevel parking area not far from the area. A bit of a walk but that's okay as you'll be walking and exploring the Tongyeong area anyway."

"Wonderful museum of the legendary turtle warship the brainchild of a famous Korean Admiral Yi Sun Sin who was a hero in those times- he defeated vast hordes of invaders using this warship. One can board the ship n view the interior as well as the decks, figurines are placed inside the ship to depict the quarters, captain’s cabin, stores, cannons etc. It all makes for a rather interesting visit. The open deck is also viewable to see the unique structure of why the ship was termed as the Turtle ship!! The surrounding area from the museum is also filled with many Traders who deal with sea produce- dried fish, oysters, abalone, seaweed etc! There are also numerous seafood restaurants in the vicinity who produce very delicious n Super fresh seafood. Prices are very reasonable for an excellent seafood meal. Although this port region is a bit off the beaten track, it is definitely worth a visit if one is within the vicinity. As is usual the locals are friendly and very accommodating, always helpful if directions or explanations are required."
