What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Murales del Carnaval for its spectacular and intricate carnival costumes, offering a vibrant glimpse into Águilas' most famous festival. The audiovisual room is a highlight, bringing the parades to life. Some visitors wished for a larger exhibition, but the connection to Paco Rabal adds an appreciated layer of local heritage.
"Wow. What a find. Small but beautiful Museum in the House of Culture, Aguilas. A wonderful place to visit. I had previously cycled up Cuesta de Gos which decades ago was a mining area. There I saw a statue of Francisco "Paco" Rabal outside a small Hermitage Church . I had presumed he was a miner..... Incorrect, he was a famous actor born here. Cuesta de Gos is a beautiful hill to cycle over with rarely a car in sight. To the top at the antenna is off-road for about 1 km, which I traversed on a Giant TCR with road 25c tyres on my bike. Well worth cycling. The museum in Aguilas is wonderful and there are lots of beautiful Carnival costumes on display. Unfortunately speaking only English and hailing from Ireland I couldn't fully comprehend all the displays. There is a huge amount of personal stuff and wonderful memoribilia on display which celebrates the success and fame of Paco Rabal. A must see in Aguilas and a wonderful local attraction. Muchos Gracias, es muy bien. Thanks again...."

"A little disappointing I thought there would be a lot more. The audio area didn’t show much and had black tape over the screen"

"Small museum on the second floor of the library building. Beautiful examples of costumes worn in previous carnivals. Also several films running."
