Castle of Almodóvar del Río (Córdoba, Spain)

I went here last summer. It's quite nice but it was repaired in late 19th century i think. also it had loads of tacky medieval stuff in there including a sword in the stone. It's a really cool position though at the bottom of the flat guadalqvir valley on a hill so it really…

I must admit I've never watched the show, but walking round the Castle, there were pictures from the episodes depicting scenes that were filmed there, so I thought you might enjoy the photo. It's near Cordoba in Spain. [Another pic here.](https://i.redd.it/n6mdwy2yiqk21.jpg)

"Amazing visit, but prepare your transport before. Would recommend!
Beautiful views of the surroundings, this Islamic castle was restored in tbe 20th century. Game of Thrones fans will appreciate the locations where some scenes were shot.

Accessing via bus is VERY complex however - check the hours on the official Andalusian transports website beforehand, and make sure you check the correct days, as it changes a lot depending on weekends etc. We ended up taking a taxi for the round trip."

"Fabulous! The best thing I did in Spain entire trip. A real castle! Actual parking. Nice restaurant flow to eat and view castle from. Was not crowded! Really enjoyed walking around. Maybe it’s better because it’s not run by Spain gov! But privately owned. Easy to get tickets and well worth the drive there. Can even eat inside the castle a traditional meal. Even has music playing and interactive videos. Highly recommended"

denisa rafalowski

"10 eur to enter, which is a good value. Spectacular views, good history lesson of the building and you also get a free workout if you climb all of the towers. We opted for no audio guide - still a 1.5 hour visit. Got surprisingly busy around noon, but then most local visitors left. Well worth the trip if you are in Córdoba."
