Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Cueva de Siete Palacios Archaeological Museum to be a valuable and insightful addition to exploring Almuñécar's history, especially when visited with the Castillo de San Miguel due to the combined ticket. While small, its unique artifacts, like the ancient Egyptian vase, and clear bilingual explanations are highly praised. Its slightly hidden location in the old town is noted, but considered part of its charm.

"5/5 in combination with the castillo. 4/5 as standalone if you are interested in archeology and history.. A really nice extension to the visit of the castillo. You can use the ticket of the castillo for the Cave of the Seven Places as well. It is small but still a valuable asset and gives a lot away about the history of the place. The place is a bit hidden in the upper old town of almuñecar but its worth it.

highlight is a vase of ancient egypt which apparently carries one of the oldest "texts" of the iberian penisula on it."

"You get admission to both this and the castle for a small charge and there is both a Spanish and English explanation both of which are well done plus an explanation of how Hannibal drove the Romans back, highly recommended"

It offers a more intimate look at the region's past than the grander Castillo de San Miguel, focusing on artifacts and detailed explanations that bring the ancient world to life. Visitors often praise the quality of the information presented, making it a valuable stop for history enthusiasts. Reddit

Key exhibits include pottery, tools, and remnants of daily life from various eras, with a particular emphasis on Roman and Phoenician periods. The bilingual (Spanish and English) explanations ensure that a wide range of visitors can appreciate the context and importance of each piece. Reddit

Many visitors recommend combining a visit to the Cueva de Siete Palacios with the nearby Castillo de San Miguel, as a single ticket often covers both.
