Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Columbario Torre del Monje to be an interesting historical site, particularly its well-preserved Roman columbarium. However, many note significant challenges with access, including difficult paths and potential encounters with dogs, as well as a general lack of maintenance and signage, which detracts from the experience. Reddit

"What was that? I didnt understand what to see. ☹️"

Zane Urberga

"Difficult access. An interesting place. Unfortunately, access is via a slope and a small path from the road (coming from Almuñecar) with several threatening, barking dogs on the loose. Access from the road coming from Jete is easy via the street that climbs toward the hillside houses. Although a woman appears, shouting, "Where are they going? Where are they going?..." - to the columbarium. The way to the columbarium isn't this way; you have to go the other way. You risk taking a road with no shoulder, only to later discover that access from the Jete side is easy.
The place is overgrown with weeds and no signs. A shame; I suppose it will disappear one day."

Manuel García

"Behind a house, poorly maintained, a little disappointing. To return to Almuñécar, take the Rio Verde which runs alongside chilimoya fields. A beautiful walk."
