Hace unos días tuvimos el honor de interpretar este himno a la Virgen del Pilar en la Iglesia Parroquial de San Agustín. Un canto convertido en mantra para bendecir el amor y acompañar a la nueva pareja en su camino ✨

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Iglesia de San Agustín for its beautiful architecture and historical significance. Many highlight the intricate details, the revered religious imagery, and the peaceful atmosphere. Some note that while small, the church offers a charming and unique experience, especially with its scenic viewpoints.

"The Iglesia de San Augustin (1587) in Arcos de la Frontera, Spain, was built by the Order of San Augustin on the site of an earlier church."

David Stanley

"It's a small church, but it has its charm: its location atop the rocky outcrop, the spacious viewpoint at the entrance, and once inside, its souvenir shop, the candle stand in a separate area to protect the religious images from fire, a small museum with photos of different moments of the procession in the street, and most importantly, Our Father Jesus of Nazareth along with his mother, Mary Most Holy of Sorrows, Saint John, and Saint Veronica. These images are carried in procession on Good Friday. I highly recommend it."

Antonio Manzano Huertas

"Its foundation dates back to 1539, as the Convent of St. John Lateran. The convent flourished, boasting 20 Augustinian friars who taught Grammar, Arts, and Philosophy at the beginning of the 18th century.

Its decline began in the 19th century when only six friars remained, and by 1835, the confiscation of church property forced them to leave.

After its abandonment, the convent gradually fell into ruin, though the church remained standing.

It is within this church that we should focus our attention on the image of Jesus of Nazareth, as it inspires the fervor and devotion of the entire town."
