What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Parque de Ferrera is widely praised as a beautiful and expansive green space in the heart of Avilés, offering a tranquil escape with its diverse gardens and amenities. Visitors appreciate its size, the blend of French and English garden styles, and the availability of sports facilities. However, some reviews note that maintenance could be improved in certain areas.
"A beautiful large park in the heart of Avilés. We strolled through it most days during our 3 week visit."
Kenneth Hook
"Ferrera Park also known as the park of the Marquise (of Ferrera) it is a real jewel and an amazing park. It was part of the palace of the Marquise of Ferrera (currently a Hotel) and it was opened to the public in 1976 after being purchased by the Council of Aviles. It has 5 entries and it closes at 11pm. The park has a trail for exercise very popular, a pond very popular with seagulls, specially during rainy days and a zone for kids. The park deserves better maintenance though as you can see for the old posts, bins... It seems a lot of trees have been lost due to storms and not sure if they have ever been replaced. There is a fountain from 1887. It is an amazing space with a lot of potential if it was managed a bit better."
JR Suarez
"Beautiful park and gardens, great sports equipment for the older kids in the party who really enjoyed this aspect. Lots of places to sit and relax and public toilet facilities too."
