"Nice place"
Miroslav Grujić
"The Old University of Baeza is currently an active institute (Instituto Santísima Trinidad de Baeza). It can be visited almost every day, morning and afternoon. A beautiful building! I would like to highlight that Antonio Machado taught there for seven years (1912-1919), and the classroom where he taught has been preserved and can be visited—an old, austere classroom not to be missed."
Marcos Vallejo Vargas
"This university was founded in the city of Baeza by papal bull (Pope Paul III in 1538). It was one of the four universities founded in Andalusia in the 16th century, along with those of Seville, Granada, and Osuna. It operated for more than three centuries until its suppression in 1824. Today it houses a secondary school.
Both the façade and the interior resemble Renaissance palaces, with a large central courtyard with a double arcade. From this courtyard, you can access the Antonio Machado lecture hall and the auditorium, which has wooden seating.
Attached to the university is the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist, which we were unable to visit because it was closed."
