"This fountain is located in the center of the Plaza de Santa María and is surrounded by the Town Hall, the seminary, and the Cathedral in the background. It is one of Baeza's most important monuments.
It was commissioned by the city council to commemorate the arrival of water (1564), under the mayor's office of Licenciado Manrique de Cabrera and the master architect Ginés Martínez, a native of Baeza.
It is in good condition."
