Walk me through Aire Ancient Baths like I’m an idiot
I’ve heard so much about Aire (and other day spas like Great Jones) and would love to go but I am slightly paralyzed by anxiety about going to an unfamiliar environment. Can someone walk me through how it works step by step? Do you bring your own swimsuit? Are you naked? How…

Reviews Summary
Aire Ancient Baths Barcelona offers a luxurious and deeply relaxing thermal bath experience in a stunning historical setting. Visitors rave about the tranquil ambiance, the variety of pools, and the exceptional massages. While some note minor cleanliness issues or a more social atmosphere compared to other locations, the overall consensus is that it's a worthwhile splurge for a unique wellness escape.
"I did the Love Experience and it was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed 90 minutes of access to the different thermal baths — moving through cold, warm, and hot waters, as well as the sauna and the incredible salt-floating pool (my favourite part!).
After that, we had a 60-minute relaxing massage. It was incredibly soothing and exactly what I needed. Alexia was fantastic — her technique was perfect and made the whole experience even better.
We loved every moment and will definitely be back soon! 🤍"

"I’ve visited Aire London many times, so I wanted to see how Aire Barcelona compared. I went for the 22:00 session and left just after 01:00 — they didn’t rush anyone, and there seemed to be plenty of staff around. Straight away you notice how much bigger it is — about three times the size of London — and half the price (around €72 versus ~£160 in London).
But it’s a completely different experience. Barcelona feels more open, lively, and social — lots of couples and younger guests, even a bit of a date-night vibe. You can tell they’ve gone for a different crowd altogether. London feels much quieter, more exclusive, and far stricter about keeping the peaceful atmosphere.
The facilities in Barcelona are impressive in scale but not as polished in detail. Some areas didn’t feel quite as spotless, and a couple of pools had a faint smell. The salt pool wasn’t as buoyant as London’s, and the cold plunge here was more cool than truly cold. The complimentary drink was mostly ice and thrown together quickly; the chocolates were the same brand as London but somehow tasted different.
That said, the size, variety, and relaxed atmosphere make Barcelona good value for the price, and the team were friendly. It’s a great option if you want a longer, more social spa evening in a beautiful space.
Is London worth double the money? Probably not. But if you’re after a quieter, more refined, perfectly maintained experience with colder plunges and a true sense of calm, London still wins for me."

"An absolutely wonderful experience! By far the best spa visit I’ve ever had. You’re welcomed with genuine empathy and attention from the moment you arrive. Every staff member is incredibly kind and helpful, and the whole experience feels truly special.
You’re provided with slippers, a bathrobe, and a hair tie, and gently guided through the different areas. The massage itself was excellent — deeply relaxing, and my therapist was exceptionally kind and skilled.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this place, even for travelers just passing through — you only need to bring your swimsuit."
