Reviews Summary
Guests rave about Barceló Raval's stunning 360° rooftop views, modern artistic design, and friendly staff. The hotel's central location and delicious restaurant are also highlights. Some minor drawbacks include potential late-night noise from the surrounding neighborhood and the rooftop pool being more of a visual feature.
"We were welcomed with champagne and the staff were very friendly. We arrived early and were allowed early access to our rooms, after a wait in which time they held our luggage for us. We went to the rooftop bar, which had beautiful views and the drinks weren't too expensive, I paid 6,50 for a pint of shandy.
There is a pool, but it's a bit of a gimmick, and we wouldn't have felt comfortable using it with people at the bar.
The room was beautiful, very well cleaned every day and a great design. There is a fridge and a safe which we found really useful. I also used the supplied clothes steamer, which was very helpful. The bed we had was king-size, but felt huge.
We had some noise from outside on the last night at 3 am, as the area around is a bit dodgy in places. But nearby the food is much cheaper, which was very useful for getting breakfast and lunch.
We used the restaurant one night and the food was delicious and really well presented, and not very expensive.
We loved the design and layout of the whole hotel, it's really modern and cool."

"Great hotel, we stayed in a Junior Suite which was amazing! The view from the 8th floor was fab. Worth booking the breakfast- fantastic choice! The 360 roof top area and views were fabulous!! Great location 5-10min from Las Ramblas, the area I felt was more a neighbourhood rather than too touristy, which had pros and cons. Would stay again"

"Very flashy modern design . Our room at the 10th floor with views through a grid. With dormitory, shower et all combined in one area with partitions and sliding doors, the space is limited but adequate for a short stay. The shower head had little pressure ,being the highest room. Staff very friendly and everything very clean. The area where the hotel is in the old town and poorer and we were told to be careful with pickpockets . The view from the top very nice! All in all a recommendable stay"

The Iconic 360° Rooftop Experience
While the terrace boasts a rooftop pool and a bar, it's worth noting that the pool might be more of a visual feature than a serious swimming spot, and can feel a bit crowded with bar patrons. The bar serves a variety of cocktails and drinks, which are generally considered reasonably priced given the prime location and breathtaking scenery. It's a fantastic spot to relax, enjoy a drink, and capture some unforgettable photos of Barcelona.
Pro-tip: While some social media content suggests free access, it's always wise to confirm the current policy with the hotel, as access might be limited to guests or require a minimum spend, especially during peak times. Visiting during off-peak hours or weekdays can offer a more relaxed experience.
Navigating the Raval Neighborhood
However, like many urban centers, the Raval has its challenges. Some reviews and traveler discussions mention being cautious of pickpockets and the general atmosphere, particularly late at night. It's advisable to stay aware of your surroundings, keep valuables secure, and avoid displaying them ostentatiously. Despite these considerations, many visitors find the neighborhood's energy and accessibility to be major advantages for their stay.
For those looking to immerse themselves in local life, the Raval offers a wealth of culinary experiences, with numerous affordable eateries and tapas bars. It’s a district that rewards exploration, offering hidden gems and a lively street scene that contrasts with the more polished tourist hubs.
Hotel Design and Room Comfort
Room sizes can vary, with some being described as compact but adequate for shorter stays, while others, like the Junior Suites, are noted as amazing with fantastic views from higher floors. The beds are typically large and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. Some rooms even come with useful amenities like clothes steamers. While the design is a major draw, it's worth noting that the layout of some rooms, particularly the open-plan bathrooms with partitions, might not suit everyone's preference for privacy.
Overall, the hotel offers a comfortable and visually stimulating stay. The combination of modern amenities, unique design, and the praised friendliness of the staff contributes to a positive guest experience.
