Solo trip to Barcelona exceeded my expectations!
I went for a work trip and decided to stay an extra 2 1/2 days! Jamón ibérico/iberian ham was unreal, I’ll be dreaming of that sandwich till the next time I can go back. I also did a food tour which was really fun and allowed me to try so many foods outside my comfort zone…

Thank you to this community! Some notes I took as an American tourist here.
- People drink and smoke so much here. A beer/wine every meal? On the flip sided there’s so much walking. Europeans seem healthier in general. - High speed rail is amazing! Madrid to Barcelona in 3 hours. In fact, the general public trans is great! Everything is so accessible.…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise El Petó Mural for its unique concept and beautiful execution, noting its symbolic meaning of peace and passion. However, many find the experience can be hampered by significant crowds, particularly those focused on taking photos, leading to a less serene appreciation of the art. Despite this, its convenient location in the Gothic Quarter makes it a worthwhile detour.
"Beautiful art, if you can see it behind the sea of selfie sticks! “The World Begins With Every Kiss” is a stunning mosaic made of tiny photo tiles—each one a little moment of love or life, all forming a giant kiss.
The mosaic is created by Joan Fontcuberta in 2014, and it meant to inspire peace and passion… but now mostly inspires Instagram poses. I advice you to come early if you want to feel something besides mild claustrophobia.
Still, worth a look—just be ready to photobomb someone’s “deep” moment."

"Beautiful art and the meaning behind it makes it more interesting! It's next to the cathedral of Barcelona and in the gothic quarter which makes it convenient to drop by while discovering touristy places in Barcelona."

"Very nice sculpture made of a lot of actual images. Lot of people around taking pictures, as always. And this is situated in a square with a lot of food places. You'll be able to have a chill snack while checking this out as well. Don't go out of the way to come here. But do take a detour if you're close by."
