Reviews Summary

La Boqueria is a vibrant and visually stunning market, celebrated for its incredible variety of fresh produce, seafood, and local delicacies. Visitors rave about the colorful fruit displays, delicious juices, and the lively atmosphere. However, some find it to be a 'tourist trap' with overpriced items at the front stalls and can be overwhelmed by the crowds.

"One of the most famous markets in Barcelona — at least among tourists.
You can get there almost right to the entrance by metro, which is super convenient. Once inside, there’s a wide variety of tapas to try. We went for octopus and anchovies. Unfortunately, a big downside for us was that they reheated everything in a microwave, which made it all rubbery and disappointing.

We also tried freshly squeezed juices — they’re €4 near the entrance, but if you walk a bit further inside, you can find them for €2. So definitely worth exploring the deeper parts of the market before buying.

There are a few small bars with seating where you can enjoy a glass of wine and a snack. Sadly, there were too many people and not enough tables, so we couldn’t find a place to sit. We also couldn’t find any toilets on site, which was inconvenient.

Overall, it’s a place worth visiting at least once for the atmosphere and visuals, but it’s very crowded and touristy. If you’re looking for something more relaxed, there are other great markets in Barcelona. Right outside the market, there are also lots of restaurants where you can sit down and have a proper meal."

"This market honestly is ridiculous (in a good way). The fresh food was just off the charts and the amount of food was mind boggling. The only downside is that the space between shops is a little tight since there are a ton of people. Get there early to have the best experience possible."

Evan Shuster

"I love this place! Is a real a good market! To eat is one of my favorites places in bcn. People is also so nice and kind! 10/10. I recommend to go early, before 10 or 11am because after becomes to be full of people"
