"A must for anyone visiting Barcelona. The museum curated a rich collection of the earlier works by Picasso and provides a detailed documentation of his early life and professional development.

It was very informative to see how his life events have shaped the style and subject of his artworks.

There was also a good collection of pottery works that’s rarely seen in other places.

The museum itself is well lit, well signed, planned and comfortable, despite the large crowd.

Self audio guide is available for a fee. One should definitely pre-book his or her tickets and visitation slot."

"The Picasso Museum in Barcelona is a must-visit destination for art lovers and photographers alike, offering a deep dive into the formative years of one of the 20th century’s most influential artists. Housed in a series of beautiful medieval palaces in the vibrant El Born neighborhood, the museum’s setting is as captivating as its collection.

Inside, visitors can explore an extensive range of Picasso’s early works, sketches, ceramics, and paintings, tracing the artist’s development from his youth through his Blue and Rose periods. The layout is thoughtfully designed to provide context and narrative, enriching the viewing experience.

For photographers, the museum presents a wonderful blend of historic architecture and carefully curated exhibits. Natural light filters through the stone courtyards, creating photogenic contrasts and serene spaces to capture. While photography inside the galleries is usually restricted, the surrounding architecture and public areas offer excellent opportunities for creative shots.

The museum also features temporary exhibitions, a charming café, and a well-stocked bookstore. Attending the Picasso Museum is not just about viewing art; it’s about stepping into the world that shaped a genius. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or a cultural explorer, this museum is a highlight of Barcelona’s rich artistic heritage."

"When arrived the ticket office, there was a line to wait to get the admission tickets. The staff are quite unfriendly, or even rude at entrance and the ticketing counter. Not a good first impression for the museum.

The museum organized the artwork chronologically with life events and how they affected the style of the artwork in those periods. Personally I’m not a Picasso fan and still not quite appreciate the style of his artwork.

We took an hour to complete the visit and I was joking to have just visited the gift shop would be enough to see the important artwork items since all info can be found online."
