What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Barranco de Guayadeque is a highly recommended 'must-see' on Gran Canaria, praised for its unique cave dwellings, restaurants carved into rock, and breathtaking natural landscapes. Visitors appreciate the historical significance and the atmospheric dining experiences. Some note that while beautiful, the organization could be improved, and a car is essential for exploration.
"for sure it is a must see place to visit in Gran Canaria, but there only by using car (hiking is only for those who are very motivated as there is no internet or place to hide from sun). Traill to restaurant at the end of the road is boaring most of the time so u can ride it slowly with car starting from the morning. If u get to end of the road u can visit houses that are carved into mountain next to restaurant. There are also nice little shops with unique souvenirs. One star is taken because of how it is organized - this nature wonder deserves some more love for people that would like to visit it. Nevertheless enjoy!"

"A must see place, truly showcasing Gran Canaria’s biodiversity. It offers unique views, even more atmospheric when the weather is cloudy and rainy. Even if you don’t have a lot of time, it is worth a drive through !"
Miko
"An absolute island classic, a must-visit! An amazing route through a gorge with breathtaking landscapes. What a way to end the day! You will see restaurants carved into the rock, houses still inhabited in the rock, winding roads along several hundred-meter-high mountains and the incredible atmosphere of this gorge. This silence is broken by the wind blowing between the mountains. And at the very end of the road there is a restaurant which I will write about soon. A revelation for me!"
