Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Euskal Museoa for its authentic and informative exploration of Basque history and culture, highlighting its child-friendliness and the impressive miniature models, especially the model of Biscay. While the museum is well-curated and accessible, some find the scattered nature of translated information plaques a minor inconvenience.

"Fantastic way to learn more about Basque history and culture! Spread out across 4 floors, the exhibits included everything from centuries old stone coat of arms of the city, through scaled down smith workshop to fine china and historical dress. For those who appreciate miniature models, this museum has a lot to offer. Apart from models of tradional villages and important buildings, you can also walk around a very impressive model of all of Biscay."

Kosara Golemshinska

"A most authentic, informative, spectacular and child friendly museum in a historic building with lot of original objects. Most information given in English, but the museum is absolutely not text heavy. It gives a substantial overview of history and everyday life of this remote but great corner of Spain i. e. Country Basque. A good mixture of history, archeology, anthropology, fishery, traditional food, rural life etc. The museum has 3 floors and a ground floor to visit. Very easily accessible for wheel chair users. Quiet atmosphere, professional and attentive staff. Restrooms are available for visitors."

Vályi György

"FREE Entry on Thursdays. Very nice Basque museum. It would be lots better if there were other languages on the detail plaques on the exhibits. Instead there are some sporadic leaflets that are dotted around. The time we spent here was cut short because of that, otherwise we would have stayed a lot longer. There is a fantastic model of Bizkaia so you can see the entire region on a large scale, it's just a shame that for a non-basque-spanish speaker there were no accessible information by the exhibits. Glad it was free entry."
