"Maman is a large scale installation situated in the outdoor area behind the museum and alongside the Nervoin River. This is the work of French-American sculptor Louise Bourgeois (1999) who is best known for her many giant spider sculptures which can be found in various museums around the world.
What you will see is a 9-metre tall giant bronze spider brilliantly placed along the promenade where you can see and take photos with the brilliant architecture of the museum in the background. It is great that Maman in the free access area as well, allowing all to enjoy this work of art."
