A late Gothic and Mudejar fortified house built by Don García Golfín, married to Doña Isabel de la Cerda, brother of Don Sancho Paredes Golfín - the lord of the Palacio de Abajo - and son of Doña Ynés Álvarez de la Mota and Don Pedro Alonso Golfín, 3rd lord of Casacorchada and Torre Arias, of the French lineage of the Golfín marches, whose first ancestor from Cáceres was Captain Don Alfonso Pérez Golfín, who took part in the Crusade of Las Navas de Tolosa (1212). A large tower, which stands out in the whole city, and the start of three angular towers that were truncated - by order of the Catholic Monarchs (c. 1480) -, the central one being later refurbished, providing it with battlements and Gothic windows. Two courtyards and a chapel with a ribbed vault."
