What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Platja Es Poal is celebrated for its picturesque charm and role as a working harbor, offering a unique glimpse into local life. While some find it less ideal for swimming due to boat activity, its stunning beauty and scenic promenade make it a highly recommended visit for its visual appeal and authentic atmosphere.
"Still as beautiful with the sun as a bonus, superb, second time we visit this beautiful typical village, if possible avoid the days that are too busy, if there are any!"

"Es Poal Beach has always been a place where some locals keep their boats on the sand.
Although many people swim there (myself included), it's not a typical beach. It's a small beach, and it can even be dangerous since a pontoon has been installed since last year, where people are constantly arriving and arriving to their boats, and many children use it to jump into the water. To give you an idea, there are currently three boats docked on the shore and about 15 on the sand.
Cadaques has many places to swim without boats in between.
On the other hand, Es Poal is one of the most beautiful places in Cadaquès.
If you're in Cadaques, this is another place you should visit."

"Wow! I didn't know a beach could be rated. Well, this one, in particular, isn't a beach for swimming. If you continue along the promenade in any direction, you'll see "Playa Grande" or "Es Pianc" in the opposite direction (recommended and similar).
Es Poal is a beach for disembarking, and many boats go there. If you look closely, you'll see that it doesn't have buoys for swimmers, even in summer, which also makes it a bit more dangerous. Otherwise, it's fine! The beach is what it is and serves its purpose: loading and unloading boats in summer. Let's not expect it to be pristine for our swim."
