What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cala Barques is praised for its stunning turquoise waters and excellent snorkeling opportunities within its rocky coves. Visitors appreciate the natural beauty and the chance to see goats in the evening. However, the beach can get extremely crowded in peak season, with limited space and relatively high prices for sunbeds and umbrellas.
"Small beach cove surrounded by rocks which is great for snorkeling.
Was very busy when we came in August. The small beach area had very little space left (given half of it is for paid deckchairs).
There is a lifeguard here which seems essential given the close proximity of the rocks.
There is also a toilet and cafes nearby. There is lots of free parking available on the road leading to here."

"We really liked this beach. It was quite clean, without wind. Color was nice. 2xsunbeds+umbrella is 28€ which is higher than the avarage. You can also see the goats in the evening. Suggested"

"Definitely recommended — get here super early for free street parking and claiming an umbrella and two lounge chairs for the day (28 €) — they also have an option to pay extra for a lock box on your umbrella for phones, wallets, etc"

The Snorkeling Experience at Cala Barques
Pro Tip: Explore the edges of the cove where the rocks meet the sand. This is often where you'll find the most diverse sea life. The visibility is generally excellent, especially on calmer days. Remember to be respectful of the marine environment and avoid touching or disturbing any sea creatures.
Navigating Peak Season Crowds
Consider visiting on a weekday if possible, as weekends tend to be even more packed. While the beach is beautiful, the limited space means that arriving late can lead to disappointment. The rental of sunbeds and umbrellas is a common practice here, so factor that into your budget if you plan to use them. Some vendors even offer lockboxes for your valuables, adding an extra layer of security.
