What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Playa de Ajabo is praised for its unique black volcanic sand, stunning sunsets, and tranquil atmosphere, making it a great escape from crowded beaches. Visitors appreciate the free umbrellas and convenient beachfront dining. However, some note the sea can be rough, and water shoes are recommended due to the pebbly, rocky shore.
"There is a restaurant on this beach. It is really beautiful beach with balck sand. At the time we visited there was not too many people there."

"We had a lovely day down at the beach. This is a fairly quiet beach, so great if you want to get away from the crowds. Free parking just up the road and the path down is easy. There are free parasols which is great but no sunbeds. This is a lava rock sand/pebble beach, so recommend water shoes or sandals. The sea was very rough when we visited which apparently is unusual for that area but meant no swimming, it was still great to watch. One down side is we came across a lot of cigarette buds - why can't people look after the environment? Especially considering there are bins near by. There is a shower and amazing restaurants right on the beach. Highly recommend overall"

"A beautiful beach in Callao Salvaje. The shore is pebbly but cozy, and I recommend using water shoes for swimming due to the rocky bottom. The beach has umbrellas, but sunbeds, which were available in the past, are no longer there. Despite this, it’s a lovely spot for sunbathing and swimming. Highly recommend for a peaceful day by the sea!"
