What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Can Pere Antoni Beach offers a convenient city escape with stunning cathedral views, but cleanliness can be an issue, with frequent mentions of debris on the sand. Visitors appreciate the spaciousness and accessibility, making it a good option for a quick visit, though it may not rival more pristine natural beaches.
"The beach left me with mixed feelings. It’s spacious, with a beautiful view, especially at night — the atmosphere can be stunning. However, the biggest downside is cleanliness: there’s a lot of trash, bottles, broken glass, and even dangerous items (I even came across a restaurant knife). Walking barefoot here is strongly not recommended, as it’s easy to get hurt. The place has potential, but without proper maintenance, it leaves a disappointing impression."

"Nice beach, Good Cafes around, Very Nice walk down the beach or through the walkway.
Nice sandy beach, water was clear and warm in June.
On the east end, You can rent sun-beds with a small safe for approximately 20 euros!"

"Ignore the negative reviews. For a city beach this is 10/10. There are so many beautiful beaches on Majorca, I expect this is not the best one, however it is really good for a busy city beach! Sit centrally for free toilets on the beach. Easy to reach by all methods of transport. Sunbeds if you want to pay or plenty of space to bring your own things. Mostly families on a Sunday afternoon. A couple of bits of plastic rubbish - which I popped out of the ocean into the bin (all tourists and locals are capable of doing this!). Plenty of lifeguards. Plenty to watch: people, planes, boats, ships. Sea warm and choppy, but safe and easy to access. It was particularly salty, so would probably keep face out of water.
Have fun!"

Navigating Can Pere Antoni Beach: A Traveler's Guide
Despite its prime location, a recurring theme in visitor feedback is the cleanliness of the beach. Many reviews mention finding trash, bottles, and even broken glass on the sand, leading to strong recommendations to wear footwear at all times. This is a crucial point for visitors to be aware of, as it significantly impacts the experience of walking barefoot. While the sand is soft, the presence of debris can be a deterrent. However, some visitors find it to be a "10/10 for a city beach," highlighting that for its accessibility and amenities, it's a great option, especially if you're willing to be mindful of the environment and perhaps even pitch in to help keep it clean.
For those looking to relax, sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent, offering a more comfortable experience. The promenade adjacent to the beach is also a highlight, perfect for a walk, jog, or bike ride, providing lovely sea breezes and city vistas. The water is generally clear and warm, making it suitable for swimming, though it's noted to be quite salty. Lifeguard services are typically present during the summer season, adding an extra layer of safety for swimmers.
The Cathedral View: A Photographer's Dream
Beyond the cathedral, the expansive sandy shoreline provides opportunities for capturing wide-angle shots of the beach, the sea, and the people enjoying their day. The promenade running alongside the beach is also a great subject, offering leading lines and a sense of movement. For those interested in urban landscapes, the juxtaposition of the natural beach environment with the imposing city architecture creates compelling photographic narratives.
When planning your shots, consider the time of day. Mornings can offer a calmer, less crowded scene, while evenings provide dramatic light and the illuminated cathedral. Be mindful of the beach's condition; while beautiful, the presence of debris can sometimes detract from otherwise perfect shots. However, with a bit of careful framing and perhaps a bit of post-processing, Can Pere Antoni Beach offers a wealth of visual opportunities for both amateur and professional photographers.
