Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Caravaca de la Cruz for its magnificent religious sites, particularly the Basilica Shrine of Vera Cruz, and its charming historic old town. The city's spiritual atmosphere and rich history are frequently highlighted as major draws. However, some visitors note that navigating the town can be challenging due to its hilly terrain and that certain popular events, like the Running of the Horses, require very early arrival for good viewing.

"Parking disuasorio Nuevo Auditorio -
A great parking area where people in work vans and cars like to 💩 and urinate and a silver Mercedes with blacked in windows that was at the festero tent drove at speed and did a donut behind the autocaravanas which then threw stones at the people's autocaravanas.
The people in autocaravanas are quiet and clean and cause no problem. The problem is the people in cars and vans, they are disgusting and also leave paper and plastic cups everywhere."

"We went for the running of the horses on May 2nd. The town was amazing, one huge fiesta. Bands, costumes, fabulous horses - so much to see. We walked for approx 15 km just around the old town and up to the castle. We didn't see the actual Running of the Horses. It was impossible to get close enough to see - you have to get up there early in the day to hold your place. Apparently, that part of it is over very quickly.
So much to see, but we didn't even manage half of it. Well worth a second visit one day!"
