The El Tragamón oak forest is a 4.8-hectare oak forest of centuries-old trees. It is located in Cefontes, in the Gijón parish of Cabueñes.
In the area, there are approximately 192 specimens of the Quercus robur species (common oak or carbayo in Asturian) and one specimen of the Quercus pyrenaica species (black oak).
It was declared a Natural Monument on March 13, 2003, and is therefore protected and included in the Asturias Natural Resources Plan under the name "El Tragamón Oak Forest Natural Park."
It is located next to the Atlantic Botanical Garden of Gijón, and the Peñafrancia River Trail runs along one side of the oak forest, making it a great place to stop for a rest, as well as to spend a pleasant day outdoors and surrounded by nature."
