"Built in the early 17th century as the Hemp Exchange, it was designed by Francisco Galiança in the Renaissance style. By the end of the 18th century, it was semi-ruined, and the upper floor was sold to private individuals and converted into a home. The ground floor was in turn sold by the city council in 1906, and the complex was restored by its owners. In 1999, the building was acquired by the Jaume I University, which organizes various activities there and has a bookstore on the ground floor.
It is one of Castellón's iconic buildings."
