What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Playa del Castillo is lauded as a beautiful and large beach with lovely views of the western Costa del Sol and the adjacent Duquesa Castle. Visitors appreciate the good, reasonably priced seafood restaurants nearby and the easy access from the A7 freeway. However, the beach's pebble-sand mix and the cold Atlantic water are frequently mentioned drawbacks.
"One of the best beaches in Estepona area. It is a very large one with beautiful views of the western Costa del Sol.
Really good restaurants around with decent prices and delicious sea food.
Easy access from the A7 freeway."

"Great beach, but unfortunately the water is often pretty cold because of water from the Atlantic ocean. The sand has pretty large pebbles in it, which makes it hard to walk without having slippers on. In the middle of the day, the sand is too hot to walk on barefooted, so again: bring slippers. There are some beach vendors coming and going every now and then, but they aren't too up in your face so you won't really mind them. Great beach, definitely recommend."
