Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Ermita de Santa Ana for its breathtaking panoramic views of the port and sea, making it an ideal photography spot. The small museum inside offers a concise historical overview, and its proximity to the Lighthouse Castle adds to its appeal. While the building itself is a reconstruction, its historical significance and scenic location are highly valued.

"Touring the Puebla Vieja area, we reach the Lighthouse Castle, connected to the Hermitage of Santa Ana, built as a watchtower across a medieval bridge. Although this hermitage, steeped in maritime tradition, may have Roman origins, it was for a long time the meeting place of the San Andrés Navigators and Sailors' Council."

"Inside, you can see well-explained archaeological remains with signage.
The building you see today is recent (1941) and was built on the remains of buildings from other periods. The oldest ones date back to the Solutrean (Upper Paleolithic), and there are also Roman and medieval remains.
Today, it functions as a small museum and, above all, offers a good viewpoint over the port and the castle and church."

"A small chapel located in the port of Castro. Access requires climbing a few steps; they are relatively few and in very good condition. Access is free, although the interior of the chapel has opening hours. Upon entering, our temperature was taken, hand sanitizer was provided, and we were asked which province we were from. They gave us a brief explanation and showed a few-minute video about the history of Castro Urdiales. The COVID measures are very effective. The views from the chapel are spectacular."
