"It is located in the center of the Plaza de Armas. It has a trapezoidal layout and an area of approximately 1,200 m2. Its walls are ten meters high at their highest point. It currently houses the Fine Arts Section of the Ceuta Museum and consists of several exhibition spaces arranged on two floors and an assembly hall.
Its main façade is embellished with oculus-shaped windows, and above the central doorway, a heraldic shield bearing the arms of Philip V can be seen. Below this is a cartouche with an inscription referring to the victorious campaign of the Marquis of Lede's Expeditionary Army, which, between November 1720 and February 1721, forced the besieging Moorish forces to retreat beyond the Serrallo."

"It occupies the central part of the Plaza de Armas, flanked by the San Pablo Angle ravelin to the north and the San Francisco Javier counterguard to the south. It is a magnificent example of a ravelin, polygonal in plan with an approximate area of 1,200 square meters. Its main façade measures 10 meters at its highest point and features oculus-shaped windows. The lateral flanks are finished with gun emplacements. The ground floor contains several rooms with doors and windows opening onto the main façade. Above the central door is a beautiful heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Spanish crown during the reign of Philip V, with a cartouche whose inscription refers to the victorious campaign waged between November 1720 and February of the following year by the expeditionary army of the Marquis of Lede, which forced the besiegers to retreat to the vicinity of Castillejos.
The interior of this ravelin consisted of a system of vaulted galleries and ramps leading up to a fill that formed the upper platform, from which the garrison and artillery pieces controlled the surrounding countryside. Since 1999, it has housed the Fine Arts Section of the Ceuta Museum."
