What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Charco Azul is a highly appreciated natural swimming spot with beautiful lava pools and sea views. Visitors enjoy the refreshing, sea-fed water, the convenience of on-site facilities like a cafe and changing rooms, and the dedicated children's pool. However, some find the access challenging due to numerous steps, and occasional issues with shower functionality have been noted.
"We really liked the place. We were there on a weekday at the beginning of October, around 12-1 PM. It wasn’t crowded, and there was plenty of space under the umbrellas. There is also a café/restaurant. There’s a separate pool for the kids. The only negative was that the showers weren’t working when we were there."

"It is a beautiful and fully fledged natural pool spot. It offers restrooms and changing rooms and also hosts a little restaurant. The water is always washing in from the sea so there’s a frequent exchange of it and that is definitely a pro. As it is a bit more modest size wise it can get packed more easily but that only shows how appreciated it is. Definitely worth the visit and stay for a couple of hours."

"Very pretty natural bathing pools among the lava with rock pools over looking the sea. You can see Tenerife and La Gomera quite clearly. Steps down into bathing pools and the sea areas for swimming. Entry is free. Parking is up on the road, where you can look down to the pools or the carpark at bottom by Rum Distillery. Lots of steps down but opposite end is sloped, but longer if you have a pram or mobility issues. Their is a cafe, changing huts, toilets, bins, cycle racks, outdoor showers and some parasols. Their is a shallow pool for younger children and lots of rock pools. The water felt quite warm today and was crystal clear. Carry on along the paved path and there are lots of lava rocks with the waves coming over them beneath the banana plantations. Here you will find lots of big and small crabs basking in the sun, but they disappear quickly if you get too close. We also saw lots of lizards and parrots. The path comes to an end and you have to return and well worth doing. The signs say no dogs allowed. It is truly very pretty and peaceful with lovely sea views down here today as not many people around."
