"The first thing we saw after leaving the car in the parking area and entering the town was an Indian-style house built in the mid-19th century by the Marquis of Comillas for his mother and used by the family during the summer months. From an architectural point of view, the neo-Gothic windows adorning the ashlar stone facades stand out. The garden wall overlooking the Comillas-Cabezón road dates back to 1850. As a historical fact, King Alfonso XII spent his summers here in 1881, invited by the Marquis of Comillas, with whom he was a close friend."
