Good morning! I’d like to introduce you to Juan from Miriam’s Butchery, one of our favorite meat stalls at the La Bretxa Market in San Sebastián. Juan carefully explains his point of view on steaks, their aging process, and how he prefers them. In this video, you can see a type of cut and animal that Juan provides to his customers. Our clients were amazed and eager to try this incredible cut of me...

Reviews Summary

La Bretxa Market is praised for its high-quality fresh produce, particularly seafood and meats, serving as a vital local hub. Visitors appreciate its historical significance and the convenience of an underground operation during construction, though some note the lack of tasting opportunities and the market's relatively small size.

"La Bretxa is a hidden gem at the rear of the old town. Whilst it's not huge it services locals by offering both fresh meat& fish in addition to a full Lidl supermarket. For some unique history check out the historic bidding clock. The local municipality keeps the buildings well maintained and toilets are super clean."

donna maree

"Really interesting place where you can feel the heartbeat of the town. The finest ingredients for pintxos. Shame there is no tasting but there is history and atmosphere"

Lighthouse Tai Chi

"Currently the building is under construction, however the market located on the underground level is still open. Entry is located via the escalators facing the building with McDonald's.

The tiles in the market were very interesting and the market offered lots of fresh seafood and fruits (we didn't try the meats). We were able to pay by card at all the stalls we visited."
