Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Bosque de Castaños Trail for its beautiful, lush scenery, particularly the majestic chestnut forests that are stunning in autumn. The trail's moderate difficulty and the charm of the villages it connects make it a highly recommended experience for families and nature lovers. Some find navigation tricky in specific sections, but overall, it's a delightful immersion in the natural beauty of the Sierra de Huelva.

"From Fuenteheridos to Galaroza, a well-marked trail with arrows is very easy to follow. Chestnut trees predominate, and you'll encounter the occasional animal, such as horses, donkeys, and dogs from private estates. It's not anything extraordinary, but it's good for getting from one village to the next. We decided to continue on to Jabugo along a secondary road and return to the starting point."

Iván Sevilla

"A beautiful hiking route in the Sierra de Huelva, a circular route of 19.70 km and perfectly signposted. The only more complicated part is the return from Castaño del Robledo, which only indicates Alajar, when in fact it also takes you to Fuenteheridos, which is where we started.
If you stop for lunch and coffee along the way in the villages of Galaroza or Castaño del Robledo, the route can take about 6 or 7 hours, but it is perfectly feasible because the low mountains present no difficulty at all.
Enjoy the sight of its holm oaks, cork oaks, chestnut trees, and strawberry trees. Feel the dampness of its mossy walls on the bricks or tree trunks, breathe deeply in the pure air, and enjoy this trail.
