Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Iglesia de Santiago de Gáldar for its beautiful Neoclassical architecture, particularly its golden stone facade and twin towers. The charming plaza in front offers a lovely spot to relax, and the interior, with its artwork and stained glass, is noted as impressive, though some areas show signs of needing renovation. Its significance as the end of the Camino de Santiago Canario adds a unique spiritual dimension.

"Although the Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol was closed at the time of visit, just being there felt special. This historic church marks the end point of the Camino de Santiago Canario, a unique pilgrimage route that starts in the south of Gran Canaria and crosses the island through its mountainous interior.
Arriving at this spot after such a journey or even just knowing its significance, adds meaning to the experience. The setting is peaceful and steeped in history.
The town of Gáldar, where the church is located, is without doubt one of the most beautiful in Gran Canaria. Charming streets, traditional Canarian architecture, and a relaxed, authentic atmosphere make it well worth a visit on its own.
Whether you're completing the Camino or just exploring the north of the island, this is a place that captures the cultural and spiritual heart of Gran Canaria."

Robean Who

"This church is in a beautiful location of a lovely plaza colourful with flowers and trees and a fountain. The church had 2 towers one housed the bells and the other a clock. The interior has some lovely paintings and the ceiling artwork was stunning in grey and white and looked 3d (it may have been), but was in need of some renovation to prevent it deteriorating any more. The stained glass windows were very nice and I particularly liked the font and its cover and the domed roof with paintings and stained glass windows. Worth a visit if you in town."

Sheila Brooks

"A nice little church, with a beautiful plaza to sit and relax in front of the church, many small restaurants around as well, and a nice village to take a walk."
