Reviews Summary
Playa de Bocabarranco offers a rugged, natural beauty with powerful waves ideal for surfers and a unique experience with its natural pools. While it lacks amenities like consistent lifeguards and public toilets, its free access and parking make it a favored spot for locals seeking a less touristy escape.
"A work in progress. No public toilets (pay as you go or open / free) anywhere. Permanent red flag that has been ignored for years. No lifeguards. No showers or wash areas (gross when you consider the water quality) New signs with names, hiking routes with the regular rules that are ignored. Smoking, drinking from glass bottles, music, loose pets and their business around. No sign says for guests to not do their business in the water so of course many did this as their are no public toilets so the beach is treated as one. The entire area was relatively clean of litter, the music of users was fairly muted so you could hear the ocean and relax and the general cleanliness made the area nice to walk along if you could ignore watching people do their business everywhere. Water, sand and the beach had multiple tide areas of plastic bits. You can see they are making an effort to make the area really nice. Highly recommend they prioritize staffed public toilets, showers and lifeguards next."

"One of the fewest sandy beaches on the north part of the Gran Canaria. Waves can be pretty high and currents very strong. Suitable for surfers or just chilling with the family."

"What a confusing place... There is an ocean, but swimming is forbidden. There is a beach but no sunbathing prople, except some random weirdos goofin around, few dogs running here and there and a shy family doing a grill hidden in the bushes. No tourists, no shops, only warehouses around. The developers of Silent Hill series should really see this place, it'd be a real inspiration if they plan to create a next survival horror game. All in all, not recommended without lizergic acid."
