"Located in the Cimadevilla neighborhood of Gijón, it was built in November 1918 by commission of the Paquet family and directed by architect Miguel García de la Cruz. Inspired by the mansions and palaces of the 16th century, it forms part of the southern façade of Cimadevilla, along with the Revillagigedo Palace and the Collegiate Church of San Juan Bautista. The architectural style is Neo-Renaissance and was designed with a dual purpose: to house the headquarters of Alberto Paquet's shipping company and also as the private home of the Paquet del Campo couple. The offices were located on the lower level, with access to the port, and two floors were built above them for residential use. Access to the latter was via Oscar Olavarría Street, directly opposite the Collegiate Church of San Juan."

According to historicist design - neo-Renaissance, neo-baroque, mountain regionalism - by the architect Playu - from Gijón of Cimadevilla - Miguel M. García de la Cruz Laviada (1874-1935), municipal architect of Gijón (1904-32), for the businessman (graphics, transatlantic trade) Mr. Alberto Paquet García-Rendueles (1876-1960) - married to Doña Dolores del Campo Valdés-Hevia (1882-1960) - as the headquarters of his consignee firm and family residence. Between 2 streets at ground level, the spaces appear clearly differentiated: the commercial office (1920) on the lower level with access to the dock and the 2 residential floors (3 in the corner tower) on the upper level in front of the collegiate church. Typical corner balcony with pediment and 2 coats of arms of the Castilian urban palaces of the 16th century. XVI. Modification of the mezzanine (1967) according to a project by architect José Bernabé González Ortega (1934-2021). Its use as a home (1918-60) - except in 1937 when it was seized as the headquarters of the PCE - was changed by donation to the Dolores Sopeña Social Project to a vocational training center. Since 2016, the city council has occupied the property on a rental basis, as a Tourism Office (2020)."
