Gorliz Lighthouse

"Ok, the lighthouse itself is nothing special and also not very impressive (aside from the size maybe). But the walk to get here is the actual sight and the interesting thing about it. And the views of the coast and ocean from up here.
Several ways and paths are leading up to this Faro. The easiest and also most convenient option starts right beside the carpark at the northern end of Gorliz Beach. It's a nice and paved way from there leading up to this Faro. Some cows, farms and lots of wonderful views along the way. Nice ocean views, cliffs and rock formations. It's a great little walk and not too hard. We had our Bulldog in her stroller with us and managed fine. Some few parts might be a bit steep and need a quick extra burst of energy. Besides that a nice walk. Most parts are under the sun, but the ocean breeze provides some freshness.

We really enjoyed the walk up here. And there were only few visitors. Which is actually very suprising. It's really a nice sight."

"As I approached the lighthouse standing tall by the cliff, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and admiration. The structure itself was a marvel of engineering, a towering beacon of light that had guided countless sailors through treacherous waters. But as I stepped inside and began to explore its inner workings, I discovered that there was much more to this lighthouse than met the eye.

First and foremost, the lighthouse was impeccably maintained. Its gleaming brass fixtures spoke to a level of care and attention that was truly remarkable.

What truly set this lighthouse apart was its location. Sitting on the edge of a cliff, it provided a stunning panoramic view of the sea beyond. As I watched the boats slowly pass by, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era, when life was simpler and the sea was king.

Now, I must confess that I am not typically one for sentimentalism. I prefer my experiences to be raw, unfiltered, and, if possible, accompanied by a stiff non-alcoholic drink. But there was something about this lighthouse that touched me deeply. Perhaps it was the sense of history and tradition that it embodied. Or perhaps it was the way it reminded me of my own humble beginnings, before I career focused adventurer that I am today.

Whatever the reason, I found myself feeling a deep sense of gratitude and reverence for this lighthouse and all that it represented. And so I raise my glass to you, my dear lighthouse, and to all the brave souls who have tended your flame over the years. May you continue to shine brightly for generations to come.

In conclusion, this lighthouse was not just a monument to maritime history, but a living, breathing testament to the power of human perseverance and ingenuity. And while I may never become a lighthouse keeper myself, I will always carry with me the lessons I learned within its walls: to be strong in the face of adversity, to navigate life's choppy waters with grace and courage, and to always keep my eyes fixed on the horizon."
