Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Carmen de los Mártires as a beautiful, tranquil, and free hidden gem in Granada. Many highlight the stunning panoramic views, the charming gardens with fountains and statues, and the delightful surprise of encountering peacocks. While the building itself is often closed, the overall experience is described as magical and a perfect escape.

"A beautiful garden perfect for an evening stroll. Located close to the Alhambra entrance/exit, and had surprisingly few visitors even on a weekend evening. I suppose it is a lovely little hidden gem at least for tourists. The gardens are reasonably well maintained for a free tourist attraction. There are fountains, engraved plaques with Spanish poetry, a small building (part of a palace perhaps) to marvel at, as well as bathrooms and potable water near said building. Undoubtedly, one of the highlights were the peacocks strolling about. Not much signage in English, or at all, but there was some information displayed about the origins of this park (as a tribute to the Christian martyrs capture under Islamic rule and invasions)."

"A beautiful park! Has lot to explore: fountains, landscaped gardens etc. It is located not too far from the Alhambra exit but surprisingly with very few visitors. A real hidden gem of Granada. The highlight is to see the peacocks spreading their feathers! You can sit in the bench and enjoy the panoramic view the Granada and Sierra Nevada mountains in quiet! A not to be missed place if you are visiting this city."
