Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Museo Diocesano Huesca to be a worthwhile cultural experience, especially when combined with the Cathedral and Tower. The art collections, particularly the 'Tanto Monta' ceiling and altarpieces, are highly praised. Some find the €6 combined ticket a bit pricey but agree the views from the tower and the historical insights make it worth the cost. The lack of air conditioning in summer is a recurring point of discomfort.

"With the entrance to the Cathedral of Huesca, you can visit the Diocesan Museum and this museum is very good, large spaces and differentiated by styles and pieces. You also enter it before visiting the Cathedral. You can find remains of the Romanesque cloister from the 12th century; a room called "Tanto Monta" from the old Episcopal Palace with an impressive wooden ceiling; you will also find pieces in Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. There is a stone altarpiece from the 16th century, from the castle-abbey of Montearagon, which is impressive and a Baroque silver altarpiece that is also spectacular. A side staircase leads to an elevated level where a good part of the seats in the choir of the cathedral, from the 16th century, are also preserved, which were in the middle of the temple and were removed after the Second Vatican Council in order to give more importance to the faithful who attended the celebrations than to the canons and beneficiaries as until then who occupied the central part. There are important paintings by Vicente Berdusán, José Luzán and one by Claudio Coello."

Jesús Castillo Cervelló

"The joint visit to the Diocesan Museum, the Cathedral and the Tower has a price of €6 for the general public and €4 for a reduced price. Being able to see the choir stalls up close and the views from the top of the cathedral tower make it totally worth paying the entrance fee."

Luis Javier Hernández Vera

"I don't usually go to these museums, but I bought the combined ticket for the museum, the cathedral, and the monastery, and it was worth it. What I found most interesting was the ceiling of the Tanto Monta Hall, made of wood and featuring carved and painted figures; and also the information on calligraphy, as well as examples of manuscripts and some capital letters, and the scriptorium. They also have a collection of architectural and decorative remains."
